Many of you have probably already have been playing Tomb Raider, so me saying that this game is absolutely epic, will probably make you say, “DUH”!!! But I’ll say it anyway, THIS GAME IS ABSOLUTELY EPIC!!
The most obvious is that the graphics on the game are truly beautiful. From the character designs to the environment to the subtle details of animals in the wild and the fire lighting effects. One can tell that the designers took time and placed A LOT of effort into making things look right and flow so that there is nothing to pull you out of the game’s story.
You want content in your stories?! Tomb Raider has it in spades. The character development for our beloved Lara Croft is gripping, intense and keeps you wanting to know more. Not just about her but what she can do and learn to do next.
The game mechanics are very intuitive. Even though the game will have hints to inform you on how to perform certain moves, it always felt natural. The switch from treasure hunting to focus more on surviving is a nice touch as well. When you are treasure hunting it is very useful as the ‘salvage’ times you find can be used to upgrade your tools and weapons.
The cinematic camera view I feel really makes the game keep you interested. There are other subtle details to the game that enhance the gameplay too, such as there really isn’t a health bar so if you’re getting injured, you better fire back or get out of the way quickly. Lara also acts intuitively, for example when enemies are near by she will crouch on her own or automatically put out the torch if you have one lit.
I feel this game could definitely be a candidate for game of the year. However we have yet to see The Last Of Us by developer Naughty Dog or Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs. Those may prove to be big time competition.

Last month Konami announced that PlayStation 3 owners would be getting some exclusive DLC for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. Today we learned that content is coming out sooner than you might think.
The VR DLC adds 30 new VR missions to the game and will be available exclusively to PlayStation 3 owners on March 12 in North America. If that’s not enough, the DLC will be offered for free from March 12 to April 3. Konami didn’t state how much the DLC will cost after April 3, but in Europe the content debuts on March 13 for £1.99 on PlayStation 3 and 240 Microsoft Points on Xbox 360, so we’re expecting a comparable price once the giveaway is over.
